#gamechangers | Meet Sue Bhuvan!
Meet Sue Bhuvan, NetSuite Consultant at GSD!
- A few years ago, BBC released a list of 100 must-read books. I’m on a mission to complete reading them all. I’m on my 45th book.
- To keep pushing the boundaries of my comfort zone, my husband convinced me to join him in experiencing something new every year. Our move to Toronto (from Vancouver) stemmed from that resolution. When we made that resolution, I thought we were just going to try new restaurants.
- I’m into needlework and embroidery. On those rare days where I have a few hours to myself, I grab a design, turn on some music and work on creating something pretty.
What do you do at GSD?
I am a NetSuite Consultant. I provide functional and implementation consulting support to our NetSuite clients.
What has been your favorite GSD Company Team event and why?
Meditation session in a salt cave before the day started. What a great way to start the day! It helped realign myself that morning and focus better.
What is the coolest thing you’re working on right now?
Outside of work, I’ve been working on a website to display my son’s Lego creations.
How did you get to GSD?
I started at Audaxium and when we were acqui-hired by GSD, I became a GSD-er!
If you wrote a memoir, what would you title it and why?
“I took that leap!” I look back and I am surprised that some of the ‘fearless’ decisions turned out to be the best ones.
If you could go back to your first day at GSD, what advice would you give yourself?
I would give the same advice Rob MacEwen gave me: “Just hang in there, Sue! It’s going to get even better!”
Who are you sitting closest to and what is the best thing about them?
I get to sit in between two wonderful people: Larry Woo and Ana Montano.
Larry: An unwavering pillar of support at GSD, and an inspiring role model! He has introduced me to not just the cool ways of NetSuite, but also very interesting movies and shows.
Ana: Her quiet perseverance and patience deserve a huge shoutout. I’ve been able to go to her with just about any issues and she has been able to provide me with a sustainable solution. No exceptions!
What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever built on the NetSuite platform?
The coolest thing I ever built was my very first workflow that flags customers who haven’t purchased anything in a while and sends them an email. I didn’t do it all by myself, of course, but I am proud that it worked and that our client (Ryeka Sports) walked away happy!
If you could choose any superpower, what would it be and why?
Reactive evolution! The ability to develop a new skill or an adaptation to tackle any new situation would be mighty awesome, I think.
What would you tell someone who’s thinking of applying for a job here?
Do it! It’s a big team, but you won’t feel lost in the crowd. GSD will support your growth and the team will continue to inspire you personally and professionally.
What is your most unusual talent?
I used to be able to write upside down. Neatly!
